BIOGRAPHY

A History of Service

Thanks to the values, guidance and work ethics of his parents, Dennis started work young as a farm laborer, along with his brothers and sisters. Working hard and persevering was the norm for his family and the neighborhood he was raised in. He continued outside of farm work as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic's Helper and several other entry-level trades.

Dennis has been married to Tammie for 43 years and has three adult children and one son-in-law.

Dennis progressed to Over-The-Road Truck Driver, then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He grew from a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Apprentice to Special Purpose Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, providing supervision and training to younger members, as well as resource development and management.  After separating from active duty, he continued as a United States Air Force Civilian, serving in Surface Mobility Maintenance, Management, Research and Development within Air Force Special Operations Command.

After retirement from Air Force Civil Service, Dennis attended Campbell University, earning a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He earned membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and graduated Cum Laude from the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business in 2019.

Dennis' interest in Economics and its Philosophy component lead him to a better understanding of people and their motivations. Applying his life experience and education towards increasing the Individual Happiness of the citizens of North Carolina is his goal.
